Goo Hye Sun visits Yeonpyeong Island residents

On December 7th, actress Goo Hye Sun and numerous volunteer aides visited the residents of Yeonpyeong Island to lend them her support and spirit. She also spent her time with some of the children at a pre-school.   
   
Due to the circumstances, she did not want her volunteer work to be known to the press, but news eventually made its way out after one volunteer tweeted about the event.   
   
Representatives of her agency, YG Entertainment, revealed, “She visited quietly and claimed that she was touched with the warm way the island residents regarded her.”   
   
Other celebrities have been lending aid to the cause, with previous reports of actresses Shin Se Kyung and Lee Da Hae visiting and donating rice, and gagman Kim Jae Dong donating $30,000 USD worth of relief aid.

TEMPO Interaktif, Seoul - Aktris Korea Selatan, Goo Hye-sun, kemarin mengunjungi para penduduk Pulau Yeonpyeong untuk memberikan dukungan moral. Di pulau yang mendapatkan serangan arteleri pemerintah Korea Utara pada 26 November lalu itu, Hye-sun juga menjadi sukarelawan dadakan. Pemeran Geum Jan-di dalam serial drama Boys Before Flowers itu juga menghabiskan waktu bersama anak-anak balita.

Pihak perwakilan yang menaungi Hye-sun, 26, YG Entertainment memastikan bahwa kedatangan Hye-sun yang kini menjajal peran sutradara itu berlangsung diam-diam. “Dia tersentuh dengan kehangatan yang ditunjukkan penduduk kepadanya,”demikian kata perwakilan itu dalam rilis yang diterima media di negara gingseng tersebut.

Selain Hye-sun, selebritas lain yang sudah dilaporkan datang adalah aktris Shin Se-kyung dan Lee Da-hae. Mereka berkunjung dan menyumbang beras. Sebelumnya, lima personel grup T-ara juga memberikan sumbangan kepada Departemen Pertahanan Korea. ALLKPOP| ISTI

'Boys Over Flowers' star visits Yeonpyeong Island

Multi-talented Korean actress Goo Hye Sun visited the residents of Yeonpyeong Island along with other volunteer aides last December 7.

Yeonpyeong Island was the center of the most recent military clash between North and South Korea.

During her visit, the actress who played the much-loved character "Geum Jan Di" in the hit Korean drama "Boys Over Flowers," expressed her care and support to the devastated residents. Reports reveal that she also visited a local pre-school and spent some time with the children there.

Representatives from YG Entertainment, Goo Hye Sun's management company, expressed that due to the sensitivity of the situation, the actress did not want her volunteer work to be publicized. However, the release of the news is unavoidable since reports of her contribution made its way to the Twitter universe.

Fans of Goo Hye Sun will be pleased to know that her next drama, "Absolute Boyfriend", which was shot in Taiwan is scheduled to air across Asia during the first half of 2011.
