[Star Diary] Continued from Lee Min Ho part 4


[아시아경제 고재완 기자]이민호를 이 자리에 있게 해준 드라마 '꽃보다 남자'는 영화 '울학교 이티'의 무대 인사를 다니던 시기부터 인연이 시작됐다.
Lee Min Ho who has attained his current status due to the popularity of "Boys Over Flowers" owes it to "Our School ET". Destiny already awaited him when he was attending the presscon (stage greeting) of that movie.


" 사실 제가 구준표 역에 캐스팅된 사실도 기사를 보고 알았어요. 그 전까지는 캐스팅이 된 것조차 몰랐죠." 사실 이민호 이후에도 '꽃보다 남자'팀은 여러 배우들의 오디션을 진행했었다. "계속 오디션을 보시고 오디션을 기다리던 배우들도 많았거든요. '잘해라, 대안은 많다'라는 무언의 압력이었던 것 같아요. 하하." 신인배우에게는 냉혹한 시절임에 틀림없다.
"Actually, I only knew I was casted for Goo Jun Pyo through a news report. Before that, I have no idea i was selected." Actually Lee min ho still auditioned for various roles involved in the "BOF team" after that. "There were still a lot of actors continuing on with the different auditions. 'I have to do well since there's a lot of substitutes for the role'. I felt the silent pressure before me. haha." This is the cruel realty that every newbie actor faces.


어 쨌든 이민호는 F4의 리더 구준표 역으로 캐스팅됐고 구준표로 변신하기 위한 준비에 돌입했다. "구준표가 워낙 대부호의 아들이잖아요. 승마, 검도, 골프, 수영, 안 배운게 없어요. 그때 배운 게 연기 생활을 하는데 도움이 많이 될 것 같아요."
Anyway, Lee Min Ho was eventually casted as the F4 leader Goo Jun Pyo and started preparing for his role. "Goo Junpyo is the son of a plutocrat, who is naturally learnt in kendo, golf, horse racing, swimming. It was helpful for me to learn those techniques."


'금잔디' 구혜선과의 만남도 이뤄졌다. "감독님이 첫 대본 리딩 전에 친해지라고 같이 식사하는 자리도 마련해주셨어요. 그래도 어색한 건 어쩔 수 없더라고요. 해외 촬영분을 보면 저는 어색해하는 모습이 보여요.(웃음)"
Meeting Goo Hye Sun (who plays Geum Jandi) became a reality. "The director arranged that we meet over a meal so that we can become acquainted before the first script reading. Even then it was hard to dispel the awkwardness. If you look at the part where we were filming overseas, you'll find my awkwardness apparent. (laughs)"(translator's note: seriously, i couldn't sense his awkwardness actually in the overseas scene, be it in his role or behind the scenes)


막상 촬영에 들어가니 살인적인 스케줄이 그를 기다리고 있었다. "제가 원래 잠이 많아서 하루에 10시간씩 자는 스타일이거든요. 그런데 '꽃보다 남자'때는 하루 1시간도 제대로 자기 힘들었어요. 얼마나 강행군이었는지 아시겠죠?"
Once filming commenced, a (killing) tight schedule awaited me. "I used to sleep a lot. I can sleep 10 hours at a go. However, during the days when i was filming 'Boys over flowers' it was hard to even properly sleep an hour a day. You get an idea of how rigorous the schedule was, right?"(wasn't there an article earlier that said before his current comeback in PT, he only took 3 months off to rest? He had schedules for the rest of the months. I think he isn't fully rested yet somehow. The sparkle in his eye that was present in the early episodes of BOF haven't returned even right now.)
