[Star diary] Continued from Lee Min Ho part 5


[아시아경제 고재완 기자]'꽃보다 남자'의 촬영을 시작하고 얼마 되지 않아 해외 로케가 기다리고 있었다. 첫 해외로케 촬영지는 뉴칼레도니아.
An overseas trip was awaiting him not long after 'Boys Over Flowers' just started filming. The first overseas filming location was New Caledonia.


"12 일 동안 촬영했는데 12일 내내 바게트빵하고 고기만 먹었어요. 프랑스령이라 그런지 물가가 엄청 비싸더라고요. 보통 밥 한 끼에 4~50만원이었던 것 같아요. 콜라 하나에 1만 5000원정도 했으니 말 다했죠. 그 딱딱한 빵을 12일 동안 삼시세끼 먹는다고 생각해보세요."
"During the 12 days of filming, we ate only baguette and meat. Things are really expensive there. A regular meal seems to cost 40~500 thousand won. (US$40~500)(<--someone correct me. It can't be that expensive, can it?) One bottle of coke cost around 15 thousand won (US$15). Imagine eating the hard bread (referring to the baguette) for all three meals each day." (translator's note: I remember kim hyun joong said in the BOF making clip that he felt like swearing after eating the bread for endless days.. lol. Apparent the guys weren't as lucky as Kim so-eun coz i remember she said Goo hye-sun bought her food, or she shared food with her)


뉴 칼레도니아 촬영은 식사만이 문제가 아니었다. "촬영도 진짜 쉴 틈 없이 진행됐어요. 잘 시간이 거의 없는 거예요. 촬영이 없을 때는 F4 화보를 찍는다고 깨우더라고요. 나중에는 제가, 저를 깨우는 스타일리스트를 잠결에 발로 '툭' 찼대요. 저는 기억이 안 나는데 말이죠. 잠 못 자지, 밥 못 먹지, 덥지, 스트레스가 무의식중에 쌓여 있었나 봐요.(웃음)"
Food wasn't the only problem during filming in New caledonia. "Filming proceeded with hardly any time to rest. There was hardly time to sleep. When i wasn't filming, I'd be woken up to photograph F4 magazines. When i find the stylist who woke me up sleeping later, i gave the person a kick. I don't remember well. It seems like I wasn't able to sleep, eat, it was hot, and the stress was piling up unconsciously. (laughs)"


더위도 복병이었다. "차량 공회전이 법적으로 금지돼 있더라고요. 차에서 에어컨을 못 켜니 더위를 고스란히 이겨내야 했죠. 또 원주민을 보면 이빨을 보이면서 환하게 웃으라더라고요. 안 그러면 끌려간다고.(웃음)"
The heat was ready to ambush them. "It was illegal for cars to assemble together. We cannot turn on the air-con in the car such that we felt the full heat of the day. We also have to make sure we smile radiantly when we meet the aborigines over there else we might be told to leave. (laughs)" (translator's note: poor guys. this should make them well-trained for all the photoshoots to come. I remember from BOF days that someone said they have to be careful not to step on the snakes (harm the snakes) else they might not be allowed to film in NC.)





게다가 뉴칼레도니아 촬영은 구준표와 금잔디의 러브라인이 한창 무르익을 때라 굉장히 친하게 보여야 했다. "초반이라 거의 안 친해졌을 때거든요. 그런데 정말 친한 척을 해야 해서 좀 힘들었어요. 구준표와 금잔디가 해변을 걷는 신에서는 물뱀도 돌아다니고 정말 미치겠더라고요."
The filming in New caledonia included Goo junpyo and geum jandi's maturing 'loveline' in the drama so they had to act close. "During that early stage, we weren't that close. However, we have to act really close so it was a bit difficult. During the scene where Goo junpyo and geum jandi were walking along the beach, water snakes were also wandering around, it was really crazy."


" 당시에는 정말 카메라가 켜져 있을 때만 재벌이었지 '컷'소리만 들리면 거지 몰골이었어요.(웃음) '꽃보다 남자' 메이킹 필름을 보면 제가 민소매 티셔츠 하나 입고 보트에 앉아서 불쌍하게 바게트빵을 먹고 있는 장면이 있어요. 그땐 진짜 살기 위해서 먹었거든요."
"During that time, i was only a plutocrat when the camera was rolling. Upon hearing the word 'cut', I return to a beggar. (laughs) If you watch the BOF making clip, u'll see a me munching pathetically on a baguette wearing a sleeveless shirt. I ate in order to survive during that time." (I remember seeing that scene and thought it looked very out of place. haha)


그 래도 마카오 촬영 때는 편안하게 할 수 있었단다. "촬영 분이 모두 호텔 안에 있었거든요. 호텔 밖으로 나가지도 않고 2주 동안 편안하게 촬영했죠. 다행히 마카오에서는 금잔디를 외면하는 설정이라 덜 친해진 혜선 누나와도 편하게 촬영했고요. 하하."
Macau's filming went smoothly. "Everyone involved in filming was inside the hotel. No one went outside the hotel during those 2 weeks and filming progressed smoothly. Luckily during the filming in Macau, the filming with Hyesun nuna, whom i wasn't really close to at that time, went smoothly. haha."
